I love this island because it doesn’t have a lot of tourists!
Amorgos is distinguished from other Greek islands by its rocky relief. By visiting this island you will get close to know Greek culture.
Thanks to the movie of Luc Besson “ Grand bleu” which was shoot in the year 1988, the island became more popular.
The main town is called Amorgos, or Hora – a white stone town, where on the hill rises up a Venetian Fortress of XIII century. Also on Amorgos there are few windmills like on Mykonos, and few dozens of churches and chapels.
There are many hotels, taverns, and you can find anything you need. In Ormos Egiali to the north – there is a wonderful small sandy beach.
Even if you are going not for the first time, every time you will discover something new here for you. Close to Amorgos there is a smaller island called Folegandros.

First time I’ve chosen the wrong tavern for sure! When they brought me a bill, I told myself that I’ll never go to any Greek tavern for sure.
But you want to eat! And next time I was more prudent.
